The League Cup Trophy...

Leithen Rovers' U16's won the first trophy of the 2003-04 season for the Innerleithen club, winning the League Cup
with a fine 3-1 victory over Earlston at Selkirk. The squad for the cup final was : Burke, Thomson, Caine, MacNeish,
Sargent, Blaikie, Meikle, Stewart, Rathie, MacFarlane, McMath, Waddell, Kerr, Irvine, Wallace, Chisholm.

'End of an Era' ( 2002-03 )

Alan Notman (front centre) finally hung up his Rovers boots at the end of an illustrious career which spanned nearly thirty years.

'Notty' started his amazing football journey with Leithen Rovers back in the mid seventies. From there he progressed to the Vale of Leithen, where he played a major part in their " famous " 4-1 Scottish Cup victory over Forfar in 1978. He then moved on to Gala Fairydean where he spent most of his playing days before returning to ' The Rovers' in the early nineties.

His influence on players was immeasurable, and he brought a quality of play that would grace any football field. Current Rovers' manager Neil Gilchrist commented " I used to watch Notty when I was younger and to be able to have worked with him at the club has been a knowledgeable experience. His attitude to the game was quite outstanding and all the players today can only have learned from him. You only have to mention Alan's name to anybody connected to football in the Borders and they have nothing but praise for Notty and that indeed is admiration at the highest level."
